The central LO and its regional offices wanted a secure, efficient, and user-friendly system for newsletters. The combination of Make as a platform and Oculos as a delivery partner met this need and was selected after Make satisfied LO's criteria.

LO's results after switching to Make

  • More regional offices are actively using newsletters

  • The quality of the newsletters has improved, including visually

  • Positive feedback from both internal and external stakeholders

  • The tool is perceived as efficient and time-saving

Who is LO?

Our most important task is to secure a safe and fair working life and contribute to a society where everyone has equal opportunities for education, health, and other welfare services. A fair society where everyone has the opportunity to contribute.

We help build a well-organized labor market, which benefits our country, businesses, and individual workers alike.

User-friendly and straightforward structure

The new system for sending newsletters had to be user-friendly, allowing multiple internal users at LO to manage it easily. The sender's identity needed to be clear, regardless of whether a newsletter was sent from LO's central office or one of the 16 regional offices. This required flexibility and local customization, within the framework of LO's established brand profile and template. The fact that Make stores data in Norway also made it a secure and reliable choice.

Another decisive factor was the option for a hierarchical account structure.

"This allowed us to maintain control of the main account centrally, while giving the regional offices much more flexibility with their sub-accounts – a clean and orderly solution that provides structure," says Sandra Stenersen Henden, Communication Advisor at LO.

She explains that one of the main advantages of Make is that they can now rely on the regional offices to distribute their own information. "We have distributed responsibility to where it belongs, to those closest to their own member communication."

Quick and professional onboarding for many users

LO started using Make in autumn 2021, and feedback has been positive ever since. Among other improvements, the newsletters now look much better visually.

More regional offices are now actively using the newsletters than before, and they report that the system is highly user-friendly.

"I have experienced this myself during follow-up training sessions, where the training itself only takes fifteen minutes. The fact that it can be adopted so quickly and professionally by many users is excellent and speaks volumes about the system."

An efficient and time-saving system

Make and Oculos managed the implementation of the new system. This included migrating lists, contacts, and templates to Make, as well as training everyone at LO responsible for distribution. Communication between Make, Oculos, and LO is close and direct, and Henden notes that they feel both valued and prioritized.

She also highlights usability as the key factor that distinguishes Make from other providers, making it efficient and time-saving.

What did LO experience?

  • Responsibility distributed to those closest to member communication

  • Usability sets Make apart from other providers

  • Simple training and a short path from onboarding to actual use

"Make is easy to learn, use, and manage. The close customer relationship is also important. Everyone wants to feel like a valued customer, even if they aren't always treated that way elsewhere. But we definitely feel valued with Make and Oculos."
