Anno Museum doubled its newsletter subscriber list using the integration between Make and Duell

Growth of contact database (1,000 to 9,000 contacts)

As one of Norway's largest museums, Anno Museum must keep annual pass holders and the public regularly updated. When they transitioned from manual exports with their previous newsletter provider to a seamless integration between Make and the Duell POS system, their contact list grew from 1,000 to over 9,000 recipients, eliminating time-consuming Excel spreadsheets.
Anno Museum's results after switching to Make
Increased the contact base from 1,000 to 9,000 contacts (x9)
Less time spent on manual export and import
Eliminated error rates through automatic synchronisation
From manual uploading to automatic workflow
With Anno's previous newsletter provider, contact lists had to be exported manually from the Duell POS system and uploaded to the tool. This was both time-consuming and prone to errors. Switching to Make in 2023, and integrating with Duell in early 2024, has changed everything:
"Having contacts and their associated data uploaded automatically is brilliant, so we avoid creating Excel sheets and uploading them manually," says Stine from Anno.
The setup process for the integration was also seamless. "We didn't really notice it, haha. Suddenly it was fully configured without us having to do anything at all. Very straightforward," the Anno team explains.
Today, customer data is automatically fetched from Duell and synchronised with Make, enabling Anno to send targeted and relevant communication based on updated information.
From 1,000 to 9,000 contacts
Since setting up the integration between Make and Duell, Anno's contact base has grown from around 1,000 to over 9,000 contacts. This opens up significant potential for more segmented and relevant communication, which Anno is now working to develop further.
They have already started using dynamic content and segmentation, and look forward to utilising automation to an even greater extent.
"Dynamic content is a very good feature, allowing us to send sections of the newsletter to one or more target audiences. As we gather more data on our contacts, we will use this more extensively," says Stine.
Simple and intuitive – with Norwegian benefits
The reason Anno chose Make was not just the technical integration, but also because Make is a Norwegian system with Norwegian data storage and a user-friendly interface.
"We chose Make because it is Norwegian, intuitive, and easy to use. We felt confident that it complied with GDPR and privacy regulations," says Stine.
They also highlight the excellent communication with Make: "When we contact you, we get a quick response, whether it is via chat, phone, or email."
A growing partnership
Anno has used Duell as a POS system for several years, highlighting user-friendliness and overview as key factors. In Duell, they handle ticket sales, reporting, and invoicing. With the integration to Make, communication efforts are now closely linked to sales data.
"It makes everything much easier," says the team at Anno. Both Anno and Duell look forward to further developing their use of the systems together.
What did Anno experience?
Automated processes free up time
More relevant content for more recipients
Peace of mind with Norwegian data storage and GDPR compliance
Fast and personal support when they need it
"Automatically uploading contacts along with their associated data is highly efficient, as it eliminates the need to create Excel sheets and upload them manually."
