Vortex (content transfer)

In short: Vortex retrieves news articles via an Atom feed and makes them available as ready-to-use RSS rows in Make – ready to be imported into your newsletter.

Vortex and Make – automated news content for universities and colleges

Does your university or college use Vortex to publish news and content? You can connect Vortex with Make to automatically include your latest articles in newsletters, eliminating duplicate work.

What is Vortex?

Vortex is a web-based publishing system developed by the University of Oslo for universities and colleges. The system is used to create, publish, and manage content on websites and intranets, with support for document archiving, version control, and access management. Login is handled via Feide, allowing employees and students in the education sector to use their standard user accounts.

How the integration works

This is a pure content integration, not a contact synchronization. Make retrieves news from Vortex through an Atom feed, which provides access to information about the latest news articles. This feed is converted to RSS format so the news can easily be used in newsletter templates. Vortex serves as the master system, and data flows one way.
