Webhook integrations
In brief With Make webhook integrations, you connect registration forms and websites directly to Make.
Most websites have a form: newsletter sign-ups, contact forms, event registrations, or new customer onboarding. The issue is that this data often gets stuck in an inbox or a spreadsheet until someone remembers to move it.
With a webhook integration, this happens automatically. Anyone who signs up is added to your list in Make right away and can receive a welcome email while their interest is at its peak.
What is a webhook integration?
A webhook is an automated message sent from one system to another. When someone submits a form on your website, the form tool sends the data to an endpoint at Make. Make receives the data and adds the contact.
You do not need technical knowledge about webhooks to use this. Make creates the connection and provides the URL to add to your form tool.
How it works
Someone fills out the form on your website or registers as a customer in your online store.
The form tool sends the data automatically to Make via a webhook.
Make adds the contact to the correct list, including your chosen fields.
Automations take over, such as sending a welcome email or a sequence for new subscribers.
The connection is one-way, from your website to Make. Changes made in Make are not synced back to the form.
Supported platforms
WordPress with Gravity Forms: Gravity Forms is one of the most widely used form tools for WordPress. You can build everything from simple sign-up forms to complex registrations and connect them directly to Make.
WordPress with WooCommerce: Customers who register in your online store can be sent straight to Make, such as to a customer club or a dedicated customer list. If you sell subscriptions, see our WooCommerce Subscriptions integration.
Craft CMS with Formie: Formie is the native form tool for Craft CMS. Forms connect to Make just like Gravity Forms.
Webflow: Forms on Webflow sites can send submissions directly to Make.
Other systems: If you use another form tool or a custom system that supports outgoing webhooks, it can usually be connected as well. Get in touch, and we will look into it.
What data can be transferred?
We determine this together based on your needs. Typically, it includes names and email addresses, but you can also include phone numbers, postal codes, interests, or the specific form used. Extra fields make it easier to send relevant content to the right people.
Remember consent: If you plan to send newsletters, your form should include a clear consent checkbox. It is best practice to pass this consent as a separate field for compliance tracking.
Use cases
Newsletter sign-ups: New subscribers enter your list immediately and receive an instant welcome email.
Event registration: Attendees are added to a dedicated list, ready for practical details and reminders.
Contact forms and inquiries: Follow up with leads through an automated email sequence.
New store customers: Welcome new buyers and introduce them to your loyalty program.
Targeted campaigns: Use form data for segmentation, and let automations deliver the right message at the right time.
